Animation

The Digital Blue animation stuff seems fairly easy to use. Had a quick go in my group the other day.

I've done animation before in schools on my 2nd placement in the 1st year we used Mac's and some special camera, but unfortunately I can't remember what any of the software was called...but I do remember that it was really easy to use and that the children really enjoyed and benefited from the experience. I wish I'd thought at the time to take a copy, but I didn't think ahead.

I think the use of animation and web 2.0 technology in schools is a fantastic idea. Most children seem to know more about computers than I do, but I think thats sort of the way it should be. I didn't have a computer in my house till I was about 11 and I didn't get the internet till I was 16, children now have all these things from birth!! In primary school I still remember the computers that took half an hour to load up and then had a black screen with yellow writing!!Giving the children the chance to learn in a different way is great for the children and the teacher...not only will the children be learning new ICT skills, but I'm sure more often than not so will the teacher!
